AME Electrical Contracting is hiring experienced Underground Equipment Operators for a project in Buckeye, AZ, with ongoing work throughout the Valley. We're looking for qualified operators with experience digging, trenching, backfilling, and installing underground electrical conduit systems on commercial projects.
This position is for operators who can safely run equipment, work around existing utilities, follow direction from foremen, and help complete underground electrical installations from start to finish. Candidates must be dependable, safety-focused, and capable of working in active construction environments.
IMPORTANT: Must have a valid driver's license

Core Responsibilities
- Trench for electrical conduit installations
- Assist with installing PVC conduit, sweeps, risers, duct banks, and underground electrical systems
- Understand trench depth, grade, bedding, shading, backfill, and compaction requirements
- Work safely around existing utilities, including gas, water, sewer, and communication lines, and other underground obstructions
- Assist with potholing, hand digging, utility exposure, and working around Blue Stake (Arizona 811) markings
- Load, unload, move, and stage material and equipment safely
- Read and follow basic underground layouts, plans, markings, and field direction
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report issues or needed repairs
- Keep work areas, trenches, equipment, and jobsite access clean and organized
- Coordinate with foremen, electricians, inspectors, general contractors, and other trades
- Support project schedules by working efficiently and completing assigned tasks on time
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and jobsite safety procedures
- Take ownership of assigned work and complete it safely, accurately, and to project requirements
Core Technical Requirements
- Hands-on experience operating underground construction equipment
- Experience digging trenches for electrical conduit installation
- Experience working around live or existing underground utilities
- Ability to safely operate equipment in tight areas, on active jobsites, and around other workers
- Basic understanding of underground electrical conduit installation
- Ability to assist with conduit installation, backfill, compaction, and site cleanup
- Strong awareness of trench safety, utility safety, and equipment safety
- Ability to follow direction and communicate clearly with foremen and crew members
Minimum Requirements
- Valid driver's license required
- Dependable, accountable, and able to report to work on time
- Ability to work outdoors in Arizona weather conditions
- Commitment to safety, quality, and production standards on every project
- Willingness to work at job sites throughout the Valley
